THE HP STORY

From direct hiring vendor to master managed services partner.

Background

In 2002, Hewlett-Packard acquired Compaq Computer Corporation, a major American PC manufacturer. In India, this acquisition set the ball rolling for the HP- RAMMS association. This was also the foundation of the current “Human Capital” Practice at RXG Business Consulting and Solutions.

In 2003 RAMMS India was selected as the preferred partner to design the concept of the first HP World flagship store in New Delhi, India. RAMMS was again engaged to update the store design at a later date, as per new formats. RAMMS went on to design 4 more stores across India, including adapting the Fitch design for HP Pavilion stores and also design the HP Cartridge World Stores in India.

Concept Strategy

During these programs, HP identified multiple challenges related to the retail sales force. With a widespread sales force, HP faced logistical and operational issues in training and managing the mobile workforce. RAMMS( now RXG ) then designed a sales force solution to help HP in large scale outsourced hiring, then training them and ensuring compliance as per global HP’s HR practices.

The project further required PAN India presence to address the needs of regional teams, which RXG meets easily from its offices across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Execution Strategy

Over the years, Xylem ( now RXG ) has become the master service provider for all manpower services since 2008, evolving from a manpower providing agency to a full-fledged outsourced managed service partner.

Today RXG also manages the outsourced teams’ HR & payroll, sales administration, reporting and hygiene across all ESFs.
